0:00-02:30: Then I heard about Hannah's work and her desire to create a community mural. And that just seemed to be perfect in terms of a a way of starting to tell our stories. And we've been working together for the past 2-3 years to get this actually actualized and to get it funded even though she started dreaming about this about 5 years ago. We have a lot of people that are gonna be talking to you today to kind of help to talk about that history. We have uh, Sylvia Soares is gonna be a storyteller, we have um, representative Philippi, we have Raffini from the Rhode Island Black Storytellers, who created NonViolence Village which teachers about African history before slavery and comes up through today. We will have Representative Philippi who will actually talk about the Celebrity Club, which was the first integrated jazz club in the U.S. And what really inspired the mural that we're talking about and that the legacy of music in our community. We have DJ Leggs who's here working with us today for that. So I'd like to thank, have to thank, Arts Culture and Tourism for their support in this. In creating a process for supporting community-based art. And they'll be talking with us later. Another person that we will also have Arts Culture and Tourism come up and talk to you about that process a little later. After we have a number of entertainers Hannah will be talking about the process of the mural and she'll also be having her Young Women's Group as well as some spoken word pieces she's developed for the program. We will then go to the mural and uh, we'll have a little gathering and a ribbon cutting. There's gonna be opportunities for you to share your stories if you want to later on in the program. And without more I will ask Hannah to come and talk to you.
