Historic Homes of Lippitt Hill
Over 650 homes were bulldozed and razed during the Lippitt Hill Urban Renewal Project in the late 1950 through to early 1960s. Seventy nine later, 65 - 79, in the Mount Hope Rehabilitation Project. These photographs here are some of the homes found in the City Archives of the Lippitt Hill Homes. Because of the different names it gets lost as to what was lost. Many do not know of the Lippitt Hill Project. Lippitt Hill was in the Mount Hope neighborhood from Olney Street and North Main to just above Camp Street and extended to right before Doyle Avenue and North Main . We hope to gather more and map them. But we also ask people who recognized their family home to submit photographs they may have for a fuller picture.
